Physician Liaison

About the Opportunity

A well-established, physician-owned specialty practice with four locations across Central Florida, and plans to expand to six, is growing its referral network, and its healthcare marketing and physician-relations partner is hiring a full-time Physician Liaison to lead that growth. The practice serves a large and fast-growing patient base spanning Seminole, Orange, and Osceola counties, and this role owns outreach across three distinct markets: the Lake Mary and greater Seminole County corridor, the rapidly developing West Orlando communities, and the South Orlando and Osceola County territory.

This is a growth position with a clear mandate and measurable impact. You will be the in-field face of the practice to hundreds of primary care and specialty offices, building the relationships that drive new referrals and strengthening the ones already in place. The practice has an established reputation, active provider engagement, and leadership that invests in outreach, so you will be building on a strong foundation rather than starting from zero. As new locations open, the territory and the opportunity grow with them.

You will spend your days visiting referring practices, building rapport with providers and their frontline staff, and positioning the practice as an accessible, responsive specialty partner. This is grassroots, relationship-first outreach with real ownership of a multi-market territory, not inside sales or telemarketing.

Responsibilities

Referral Development & Physician Outreach

• Conduct targeted in-person visits to 10–12 practices per day across assigned territories

• Introduce and reinforce the client's providers, services, locations, and referral pathways

• Distribute and replenish referral forms, brochures, provider information, and patient education materials

• Prioritize high-potential practices through consistent, disciplined follow-up

• Develop 3–5 or more new referral relationships per month while deepening existing accounts

Relationship Building

• Build rapport with practice managers, medical assistants, and referral coordinators who influence referral processing and scheduling

• Act as a direct liaison between referring offices and the client to support scheduling, access, and communication

• Maintain regular touchpoints so referring offices view the client as a dependable specialty resource

Practice Visibility & Events

• Coordinate and host marketing lunches, provider meet-and-greets, and physician introductions

• Represent the client at networking events and community health fairs

• Manage event logistics and submit itemized expenses for reimbursement

Territory Management & Reporting

• Own coverage across three Central Florida territories, allocating time based on opportunity, geographic efficiency, and client priorities

• Document practice contacts, referral opportunities, and follow-up needs in a CRM or activity log

• Deliver monthly outreach activity and engagement reports; lead quarterly territory and strategy reviews with client leadership

• Relay feedback from referring offices on access, referral process, and service awareness

Qualifications

• 2+ years in medical sales, physician liaison, practice outreach, pharmaceutical/device sales, or healthcare marketing

• Confident walking into a busy medical office unannounced and earning a few minutes with the right person

• Working knowledge of referral workflows and the roles of practice managers, MAs, and referral coordinators

• Able to learn and clearly communicate specialty referral criteria to a range of referring practices, including primary care, internal medicine, orthopedics, dermatology, gastroenterology, pulmonology, nephrology, neurology, pain management, podiatry, and OB/GYN

• Organized, self-directed, and reliable with follow-up and reporting

• Professional, personable, and persistent

Requirements

• Reliable vehicle, valid Florida driver's license, and willingness to travel daily throughout Seminole, Orange, and Osceola counties

• Availability Monday through Friday during standard practice hours, with occasional early-morning or evening events

• Proficiency with basic reporting tools (spreadsheets, CRM, or activity logs)

• Preferred: existing relationships with Central Florida primary care or specialty practices; background in rheumatology, orthopedics, or musculoskeletal care

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary of $52,000–$65,000, depending on experience

• Performance bonus tied to new referral relationships developed

• Mileage and pre-approved marketing expenses reimbursed at actual cost

• Paid time off and flexible scheduling within the field-based structure

How to Apply

Submit a resume and a brief note describing your physician-outreach experience to mholohan@myrheumatology.com.
